Notre Dame Football Preview

The Fighting Irish came storming back to national prominence in 2012 as Notre Dame reeled off 12 straight victories to start last season, thus earning a spot in the BCS National Championship Game. Notre Dame’s great 12-0 run included numerous close calls in wins over mediocre clubs like Pittsburgh, Purdue and BYU, but also among the victories were impressive wins over the likes of Oklahoma, Stanford, USC and Michigan. Head Coach Brian Kelly was on his way to becoming the next Lou Holtz and linebacker Manti Teo was on his way to becoming a national hero. But then came the revelations that Teo was less than truthful about the “death” of his “girlfriend” and then came a painful destruction at the hands of Nick Saban and Alabama in the national title game. So can Notre Dame get back in the national title chase this year? It seems unlikely, but this team is still pretty good!

This team is still a likely Top 25 entrant, but there will be no National Championship dreams in 2013 with so many question marks on offense. But Brian  Kelly has done a GREAT job here!
